Special Structures Lab have been involved with the development of all forms of the Kayam.
Project Description
The Kayam is named after Hassan Omar Khayyam, the Persian poet, whose name means 'the little tent maker'. The form of the structure deliberately evokes the curvilinear shapes of myth and folklore.
In theatre use, the Kayam is capable of housing multiple combinations of staging, seating, prosceniums, and lighting and sound installations.
